What ftp sites have the MiscKit?

The following sites have all been kind enough to offer storage for the MiscKit on their ftp servers. The links will take you to the server's directory where the MiscKit is located:

Is the MiscKit available on CDROM?

Yes. There are several NEXTSTEP/OPENSTEP CDROM collections which include the MiscKit:

Disc TitleVendorMiscKit Version(s)
Nebula Walnut Creek CDROM 1.2.6
The Fatted Calf Ensuing Technologies 1.2.5, 1.2.3
Peanuts NEXTSTEP/OPENSTEP
Archive
(USA Distributor)
Peanuts Archive 1.2.8, 1.3.0, 1.4.1
Update: 1.6.3
The Big Green CD Collection Skylee Press 1.7.1
Stone CD Stone Design 1.7.1

Note: If you have produced a CDROM collection that contains the MiscKit and would like it to be mentioned here or would like to update the data presented above, please contact Don Yacktman by sending e-mail to don@misckit.com. If you plan to put the MiscKit on a CDROM collection, the license requires that you contact Don for permission anyway. (To date, nobody has been denied permission; the purpose of this is to help us keep track of where the MiscKit can be found.)

Will there ever be a MiscKit-only CDROM?

Perhaps. This will depend upon demand: if enough people want one, we'll have one pressed. If we did that, you would get a CD with every version of the MiscKit from the beginning up to the latest version. We'd also probably try to include source code for many of the applications that use the MiscKit as well as several other goodies.

If such a CDROM would interest you, send a note to Don Yacktman via e-mail to don@misckit.com and state your interest as well as how much you would be willing to pay for the CDROM. This will help determine if we can justify the cost of producing the CDROM. Obviously, a higher volume will reduce the cost. The disc would be priced to cover costs, not to make a profit, which means that pricing would probably be below $20 US.

At present, there doesn't seem to be enough demand to warrant a MiscKit CDROM. In the future, however, that could change very rapidly!
